ON THOUGHT CLEANSING

I’m reading a book called “Learned Optimism” by Martin E.P. Seligman. I got a score of zero in the book’s quiz. Zero or below zero means very pessimistic. Let’s say that even if the test is not accurate – I do admit to agree on being a pessimist. I haven’t finished reading the book tbh, but what I’ve learned so far has been that if you have a more positive outlook / attitude:

  1. You will be happier
  2. You will live a healthier life
  3. Experience “astonishing positive results”

The book helps you go through the process of recognizing your “explanatory style – what you say to yourself when experience setbacks – and how it influences your life.”

I’M CURRENTLY EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PESSIMISTIC THOUGHTS AND NEUROPLASTICITY

Self-improvement is always work in progress. As they say, “kaizen” – continuous improvement.

I invite you all to take a moment to reflect on your attitude and the stories you tell yourself.  As they say, becoming aware is the first step towards progress.
